Teaching in the "Net" Generation
Why are more and more teachers today struggling to captivate the attention of todays students in the same way they did in the past? The truth is students are changing but the thoughts, style and pedagogy of teachers remain stagnant. The digital natives of today are submerged in a world of multimedia where they seek to be intertained. The traditional lecture style of teaching is no longer effective (not to say that it ever was) in the 21st Century classroom. Teachers today, most of which are digital immigrants, must change their ways or find another profession. Will computers take the place of teachers? No, I think not! However I think teachers who use computers will replace those who do not.
